According to latest reports today by Christopher Marc, editor in chief of The Ronin and BespinBulletin.com, Lars Mikkelsen who voiced Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars: Rebels is set to play the character in live action. Mikkelsen has been cast to portray Thrawn in the Ahsoka series. Ever since Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian aired and Ahsoka mentioned Thrawn, speculation as to who would be portraying him in live action has been everywhere. Many fans hoped that it would be Mikkelsen himself who would play the character he voiced, as he's a fine actor and looks the part as well. Now it seems that this is indeed the case.
If this news is true, it means that all the main characters from the animated series Star Wars Rebels have found their live action equivalent. Apart from Thrawn, the most recent news we had of a casting was Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. The Ahsoka series continues to film in Los Angeles and the show is set for a 2023 release.
