Tales of The Jedi is Moving, Deep, Haunting and a MUST WATCH.

Dave Filoni's new series of animated shorts titled "Tales of The Jedi" is a worthy addition to Star Wars canon. The series takes us back to the prequel era of Star Wars, an era which depicts the galaxy on the cusp of succumbing to the treachery and manipulation of Palpatine. Several of the characters we've seen already are present, including Count Dooku, Jedi Master Yaddle, Mace Windu, Anakin, Ahsoka, Senator Bail Organa, Rex and Qui Gon Jinn.

The series adds a surprising amount depth to Count Dooku as a person and his slow descent into the dark side. His growing disillusionment combined with the increasing politicization of the Jedi is shown going hand in hand, pushing him closer to the dark side. What moved me was how much he loves his former Padawan, Qui Gon Jinn. The scene in which he stands before the tree, a spot which Qui Gon loved to visit, and discusses his fondness for it with Yaddle, is poignant and deep. Dooku is obviously grieved and hopeless, and sees no way of rectifying the wrongs done by the Jedi Council, except by joining the dark side. Another huge standout of the show is Yaddle, who showed the foresight and wisdom the entire Jedi Council lacked throughout the prequel era, including Yoda himself.

Ahsoka is shown being trained by Anakin who as usual employs radical techniques, which are probably responsible for helping Ahsoka survive for so long despite being hunted by her enemies for decades. I won't spoil any more of the show, and I'll leave it up to all of you to watch and see for yourselves, but it is a beauty. The animation is a step up even from The Clone Wars, Season 7 and the background music is Kevin Kiner's best music ever for a Star Wars show. I think it's time Kevin Kiner does the music of a live action Star Wars show. The music alone is worth the time, and takes us right back into the classic, John Williams prequel era sounds. I personally couldn't find a fault anywhere whether in the writing, the animation or the characterizations.
