Start spreading the news! A new look at Season 3 of The Mandalorian will be unveiled on Monday, January 16th, at the halftime of the Cowboys and Buccaneers game, as part of ESPN's Monday Night Football. The first trailer of Season 3 landed in September during D23 Expo.
It's possible, although not confirmed, that Disney may upload the trailer for the rest of the world to watch online on their official accounts before the game. However, this isn't something that has been confirmed. Those who will watch the game are in luck, however. The Mandalorian Season 2's last episode aired in December 2020, and it's been over two years since the finale that delighted Luke Skywalker fans, when the beloved Jedi came and rescued everyone from Death Troopers, aboard Moff Gideon's ship.
There's plenty of buzz about where things are headed for all the shows within The Mandalorian timeline. There's a lot of curiosity surrounding the introduction of Grand Admiral Thrawn into live action, and it's possible Thrawn's presence could be teased in the new trailer of Season 3. The new trailer may also give us a look at other Mandalorians, perhaps well known ones, such as Sabine Wren.
However, fans should keep their expectations in check. If trailers of other shows have taught us anything, it's that most of the footage included in them comes from the beginning of the season, and most of the big surprise cameos such as those of Ahsoka and Luke Skywalker, are usually kept for later on in the season. Regardless of what is shown and what is kept under wraps, the new trailer is bound to be spectacular and get fans more pumped than ever for season 3, and that's why Disney has decided to unveil it during a NFL playoff match. This definitely ensures that the new season will grab maximum attention before its March 1st premiere.
