Production has begun on Andor Season 2, as the finale of Andor Season 1 began streaming on Disney Plus this morning. It must be a relief for Andor fans to know that the second season began filming a day before the finale of the first season was even released. However, filming will take approximately 1 year, and with the additional post production work taken into consideration, the show will only be released sometime in 2024.

Meanwhile, Tony Gilroy revealed that Season 2 begins a year after the events of the Season 1 finale, and that quite a bit will have happened already within the span 1 of year in Cassian's life. Season 2 of Andor will cover several years, resulting in a faster pacing as opposed to Season 1. Tony Gilroy has also confirmed that as many have already predicted, Cassian's droid buddy K2SO will be there in Season 2, which is probably going to add some humor to the serious moments of the show. Gilroy has already hinted that Season 2 will be a lot darker than season 1.

Season 1 has already shown us various parallels between Rogue One and Andor, more precisely, between Jyn and Cassian. A certain post credits scene from Episode 12, which I won't spoil, evokes dread in the simplest way possible. You can read more about Andor Season 2 from Tony Gilroy himself, on Collider.com .
